NOVA NAMES DANIELE SEMERARO PRODUCT DESIGN
MANAGER
HUNTINGTON PARK, CA (October 13, 2009) –
Daniele Semeraro has been named Product Design Manager for Huntington
Park, CA-based NOVA. In his new role, Semeraro (pictured left)
will manage the overall design processes for the soft contemporary
and simple modern lighting and home décor company - from
initial design development through production. Semeraro's duties
range from design team supervision, trend analysis and prototype
development to working closely with the factory to ensure that
NOVA continues to produce and deliver innovative products that
respond to today's design directions, clients' specifications
and budget requirements.
Semeraro
brings a wealth of design and project management experience to
the company. Born in Sweden to Italian parents, he would go on
to study at one of the pre-eminent design academies in Florence
before moving back to Sweden to work as a design account manager
for a car interiors company that developed materials for Volvo,
Volkswagen and other European cars. From there he moved to the
US where he worked on a number of international projects for hospitality
design leader Hirsch Bedner Associates. He has also worked extensively
in lighting design and launched his own design company in Italy,
Stile Semeraro, which produces a stemless wineglass design that,
he says, blends Sweden's simple functionality with Italy's style
and elegance.
"At NOVA, original design is at the heart of our mission.
We're committed to consistently delivering original, innovative,
top quality designs at affordable price points and Daniele is
the perfect person to help ensure that we stay true to this goal,"
says Daniel Edelist, CEO, NOVA. "His extensive design background,
amazing creative talents and proven business sensibilities will
certainly help guide us as we continue to expand and enhance our
product offerings." NOVA has been expanding its reach internationally
and consumer taste in the US market has been shifting to a more
global aesthetic. Daniele brings a more European sensibility in
terms of form, function and scale.
"At NOVA I now have the chance to work in design on a grander,
mass production scale," says Semeraro. "While I've worked
in a number of different design areas and capacities, if you know
how to think about the design process, it translates nicely to
any industry or project. I look forward to working closely with
the entire NOVA team to help take the company to the next level."
